Ernie Gomez Relief Fund

Supporting our members and their families in times of critical need.

In Memory of Ernie Gomez

Ernesto “Ernie” Gomez (ID #135, Badge #673) began his career with the El Paso Police Department on March 30, 1964.

In 1987 he was diagnosed with cancer, and during his illness his fellow officers rallied to collect funds to support him and his family.

After his passing, EPMPOA established the Ernie Gomez Relief Fund in his memory to provide financial assistance to officers facing medical hardship and urgent personal needs.

The Association holds fundraising events throughout the year to sustain the fund.
